LOCATION.--Lat 38°19'26", long 89°58'15", in SW1/4SE1/4 sec.27 projected, T.2 S., R.8 W., St. Clair County, Hydrologic Unit 07140204, on left bank at downstream side of bridge on State Highway 156, 2 mi northeast of Hecker, 5 mi west of New Athens, and at mile 17.3.

DRAINAGE AREA.--129 mi2.

PERIOD OF RECORD.--October 1969 to current year. October 1980 to September 1994 (8 a.m. gage heights).

REVISED RECORDS.--WDR IL-75-1: Drainage area.

GAGE.--Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 375.00 ft above sea level. June 28, 1976, to Nov. 9, 1978, nonrecording gage at same site and datum.

REMARKS.--Records good except those for Feb. 7 to Apr. 1 and July 2-13, which are fair, and those for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Effluent from two sewage-treatment plants 13-16 mi upstream averaged about 13.4 ft3/s per day. Gage-height telemeter at station.
